Eating a "fruits de mer" in Normandy, France. Lots and lots of shellfish (whelks, mussels, tiny clams, oysters) and utensils I had never seen before. Interesting experience trying to figure out how to use each and every one the tools.

"Mastering the Art of French Cooking" by Julia Child. Wish that there were a similarly-styled cookbook for Italian.
I am always on the lookout for interesting food finds, dishes, and restaurants.
To try different restaurants and/or cuisines and meet people with similar food interests.
