What aspects of our "backyard history" are you most interested in learning about?

I'm really most interested in the average life of the average person. Historical politics, biographies of presidents, Revolutionary War, Lewis and Clark, pioneers. Just finished Jefferson's Nephews--the story of Jefferson's sister's 3 son's who moved out to Kentucky, met with much misfortune, committed a terrible murder. Their children ended up being scattered. It is quite sad. This weekend I'm going to Johnstown, PA, to get a closeup of the Johnstown Flood--see the National Historic Site, the Flood Museum, and check out the various flood landmarks in Johnstown. (Great book by David McCullough). Really looking forward to being in this Meetup group!

Introduction

I live in Ashland AND I love history maybe even more than I love hiking.
