Let's go to a market that specializes in traditional Korean side dishes (반찬). For 5,000 won, we can get rice and choose from a huge variety of delicious Korean side dishes. It will be a great chance for all of us to work on our bargaining skills as we choose our side dishes throughout the market.^^ After selecting our side dishes we will pack them up in containers provided by the market and make our way to the trailhead of Inwangsan mountain. We will hike along a fortress wall up to the peak, getting great views of the Blue House (the Presidential Residence) along the way. We will eat our packed lunches together at the top of the mountain while enjoying views of Seoul below. It will only take a few hours to hike, take photos and eat our lunches as it isn't a difficult hike. It should be a great way to spend the day!
Gyeongbokgung Station (경복궁역)

(Pay for your lunch at the market, bring cash.)
What to bring:
Clothing and footwear appropriate for hiking
Money for lunch
A backpack or bag to hold your lunch and water
ID (This hike is close to the Blue House [where the president lives], so bring an ID just in case it is needed to access the hiking trail)
- 10:45am - Meet at Gyeongbokgung Station (경복궁역) Line 3, Exit #2
- Go to the market, select food for lunch, and pack it for later.
- Walk to the trailhead, and begin our hike.
- Eat our packed lunches at the top of the mountain.
The hike doesn't take more than a few hours to complete, but it does involve hiking uphill to reach the top of the mountain. In Korea, trails are often steeper than in other countries so keep that in mind. Also, please note that you can't take photos in certain places of the trail because the hike overlooks the Blue House (presidential residence).
