Framingham Area: Preparing for self sufficiency

More of an introduction of members. Discussion on obtaining water, and food, ham radio, bartering, plus other concerns. Meetup is at the Framingham Public Library and it is open the public as well.

We will be Meeting in the J Program Room down stairs in the childrens section of the library.

We have the room for close to 5 hours. Plenty of time to discuss and if we finish early, that's okay.

as an initial meeting it was good. i would like to see an agenda next time...perhaps with specific topics: ie. internet resources..solar energy..water issues..food storage..medical issues. and then open discussion.

We had a fantastic meetup. Intro from people all around. Great exchange of information from water, to food, to different books to check out. Even about weapons outside of firearms like tactical pens which I found to be very heavy. I'll also need to check out CAP (Consumer Auto Parts) for golf cart batteries at a good price. hope to release a more full report later. Once again. Great meetup. Rick

Hi Donna + Tom. I'm at the library at this moment and ask about handicapped parking. (Seems to me this was overlooked.) The librarian did speak with the director. Seems like they will try to resolve that issue ASAP but hopefully in time for the meetup on Saturday. I should be here later this week to confirm things and update you. Rick

I've got a link to the Framingham Public Library parking garage demolition from their FB page:

    It has begun.

This may be way ahead of it but thanks to all attending this meetup. I hope to evaluate whats happening with the parking situation this week. Please be patient.

We will meet in the lower level in the children section of the library. I've learned that we can bring snacks and beverages. On that note I'll be bringing carrot and celery sticks plus any sprouts I've sprouted. Maybe we'll talk about them. Please remember I am a first time sprouter and learning from online.

    See you all there.

Go figure. And I just scheduled the meetup today. There may by some parking restrictions at the library because they are going to demolish the parking garage. Click for parking areas: http://www.framinghamlibrary.or...

Also click on "edit map" after the address above for a google mapping of those locations. Please email me if you need help. I believe the Danforth Museum of Art is the better choice for Saturday.

I would like apologize to the people who may be going to the LDS Cannery that day. This seems to be the only Saturday I can get in April. If you cannot make the meetup hope you can make it in May.

Please contact me if you need directions to the Framingham Library.
