Is it true that no two snowflakes are alike?

I don't know. Has anyone ever examined this? I kind of think there have to have been, at least once in all of history, two snowflakes that looked the same. It’s like aliens. I'm not running around with a tin foil hat screaming "They're out there," but its rather arrogant to say that in the vast universe earth is the only planet with intelligent life. My point being, the reason why a question like this exists is because there is no definitive answer. It's meant to reflect the individual perspective or philosophy of the answerer. Therefore, the real answer to this question, for me, will always be "I don't know." My question would be: Which is more impressive, if there were identical snowflakes or if there weren't? Personally, I think given all of the variables involved it is much more interesting if two snowflakes actually looked the same; it seems like that would take more explanation in order to understand how it happened.

What types of work do you prefer to do (poetry, short stories, non-fiction, etc.)

I have pretty much only written horror to this point. I am a huge fan of horror films and novels. I have long been disappointed by several works and boasted that I could do better. Now I'm desperately trying to prove myself correct. I am working on a novel and have recently started experimenting with short stories.

Is writing your profession or just a hobby (or a profession waiting to happen)?

Right now it is just a hobby and a dream. My goal is to one day make it my profession.

What brings you to this meetup group?

A co-worker of mine suggested it to me. I was nervous about attending and I guess I still am a bit intimidated at times. But everyone has been so nice and supportive of the works I've brought so far that I find myself looking forward to the group all week long.

Introduction

I am a social worker with a masters degree in psychology. I've always had a lot of creative ideas and recently I have started to try and express these ideas through writing.

What Andrew T. is saying about this Meetup Group

One of the most inspirational things I've done in my life was joining this group and I am incredibly grateful for it.
