UPDATE!!

Meeting Place: We'll be meeting at the Club House at Windsor West Apartments (Kevin has made the arrangements) at 4 pm and have drinks and mingle until dinner.

Dinner: We'll be having a Potluck Dinner. Bring something with you. I'll have a sign up made up so that we don't all bring a bag of Spicy Nacho Doritos. We'll have dinner at 5 pm.

Auction: We'll start the Auction once everyone has had a chance to grab some grub.

Gameplay: We'll start playing games as soon as the Auction is over. We'll play until 10 or 11 pm (updated soon), whenever the final time is we can be in the club house. It will be an open-gaming night!

If you haven't signed up yet, please do so as soon as possible so that we can get a grasp on how many are coming and prepare accordingly.

If you have any games to donate, please bring those to any event night and give them to myself (Eric), or Kevin.

Also if you still want to make a donation to the group, that would be cool. Again you can give that to me or Kevin.

MORE UPDATES TO COME!

Hey guys and gals, We are approaching our 1st anniversary as a gaming group. On Feb 12th of last year, Karen and I with 2 others got together for our first official meetup and played Ticket to Ride!

So lets celebrate that we still have a strong group 1 year and 159 members later!! It's all for a good cause too! We will be holding an auction of donated games from you guys. So search those closets for games that you don't play anymore or won't play anymore and donate them to the auction. The proceeds from the auction will go to Child's Play, a charity that provides games to hospitals so that children can play with their families.

I'll have more details as the date approaches. We could switch it to a Friday night or another nearby Saturday night. Feel free to RSVP! There will be a dinner, auction, and gameplay!!

We'll be taking your donations at any of our meetups from now until the auction. So just bring them with you and we'll make a recording of it on paper.

Oh and don't forget, there will be prizes. We are hoping to get some games to give out for free as well as TICKETS TO GENCON!!! Sign up now!

Sorry for the last minute comment, but I'll be getting there closer to 4:30. Will still bringing food, and an extra chair if needed.

I'll be there probably closer to 4:30, and I can bring a chair or two. If we still have some type of food/drink shortage, let me know and I'll pick it up on the way over.

I've bought 6 bags of various kinds of chips (between 7oz and 12oz each). Let me know if you think I should get more.

    February 14, 2014

I'd expect that's plenty, if we all bring enough food for 25 people, we're going to have 25 times the amount of food required.

Sounds good Paul! See you tomorrow!

I haven't been able to make any of these, but I'm hoping to make this one, although I won't be able to get there until closer to 4:30-5. What kinds of foodstuff do you still need?

    1 · February 12, 2014

    • Eric R.

Hey Eric, I sent the email out to you guys requesting things we need. Bring a chair! Shawna not able to make it?

      February 13, 2014

    • Eric M.

      I can bring a chair.

I said I'd bring samosa as an appetizer, but I'll bring a Mediterranean veggie saute instead so that we have another side dish.

May I ask what is wrong with only spicy Nacho Doritos for dinner? :)

I'm attending a workshop that runs until 5pm, so I will be late.

I'm definitely going to need a ride to there and back. There is NO bus service.

Will the games be auctioned off to the public, or to each other? If all the games don't get auctioned off, is there maybe a local charitable organization that could use them? I'll see if I can turn anything up on that second question.

    January 17, 2014

    • Eric R.

They are going to be auctioned off to those who attend the auction from the gaming group. If they don't get auctioned off, which personally, I'd be surprised if someone doesn't buy a game, then the games themselves will be sent to Child's Play.

Don't switch it to that Friday -- it's Valentine's Day, and those of us with non-gaming significant others would become personae non grata if we came to this instead.

Anne -- some after-school programs might be interested, depending on what's donated. they'll certainly take familiar mass-market games (Stratego, Monotony, Battleship, Uno, etc.), and some of them might be willing to get more adventurous.

No worries, I have plans for the 14th.

      January 17, 2014

Also, both Mike and I are planning on attending. :)

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
