Converse Bay

Week night paddle protocol Launch time 6:00pm
The CKC sponsors weekly informal paddles open to all members or future members regardless of skill level. We request that all paddlers arrive on time, dressed appropriately for water temperature and with all required gear, ready to launch at 6:00 pm. There are no formal trip leaders but we do recommend that the group discuss the trip expectations prior to launch to ensure that everyone is on board with a trip plan. Please give yourself 20-30 minutes to get ready to go.

Required equipment: Pfd's, kayak, paddle, head lamp, kayak flotation (bulk heads or floats), spray skirts (conditions may change, questions please ask)
Recommended equipment: pump, drinking water, snacks, sun screen, hat, and extra clothing

Please post to the forum that you are coming. Some people do not drive up for the paddle if no one posts that they are going paddling. PLEASE LET EVERYONE KNOW THAT YOU ARE PADDLING.

It would be great if someone would post after the paddle on how many people made it to paddle that night.

You can locate launch locations by going to our Goggle map the link is located on the left-hand side of the Meet-Up page. Look for the Google Icon.

At first it looked like we might get in the water and get chased right back out by T-storms. But..... once on the water all the darkest clouds were on the Vermont side and moving away from us.
We were socked into some fog for a while, then it mostly broke up and we had some sun and a very slight warm breeze for most of the trip. We went south along the shore as far as Thompson's point then came back around the islands in the bay.

Managed to avoid getting rained on tonight on Shel bay, so maybe we'll luck out tomorrow too. I'm just leaving the boat on the car till then.
