Paddle Planning Meeting for 2013 Season w/ Pizza

Paddlers, we are planning to have a paddle planning party.

Sorry for the short notice but time was running out and we need to get things rolling.

CKC will provide the pizza but you have to bring your own drink. What we are looking to do is have people who would be interested in organizing paddles get together, setup and take on one of many trips we would like to do this year. Organizing does not mean you are the one very one has to follow or be led by. Just that you plan on going and will be a contact for more information. Come ask questions, maybe team up with someone else to organize a paddle.
If just half of our membership organized one paddle each, we would have 50 plus paddles this season.

Date: Sunday, May 19th 5:00 pm
At SAS Architects on the third floor above Burlington Flatbread, 117 St. Paul St. across from City Hall Park.

Parking is by luck but there is a garage one block west and south on the north end of Pine St. at the Mall. The elevator will be on.

Some of our ideas at this point are as follows:
Full and half day paddles in VT or NY (2 hours, 4 hours, 5+ hours)
Weekend trips here on Lake Champlain (1-3 days camping)
Weekend trips to Maine, NY, or other location (2-3 days)
Family paddle day at Sand Bar State park (paddle from the beach lunch and play)
Moon Light paddles
Slow paced 2 to 3 hour paddles (4 miles) Beginner / Short boat
Get Wet Days, Rescues and exit
WOW – women on the water
Educational paddles (learn about the lake and areas)
PPPO (Post Paddle Pig Outs) finding locations to have a beer and snack after paddles

Am planning another length of Lake Champlain trip this summer - hope to make your meeting as I will be at Flatbread with a bunch of Quebecers then anyway.

We're going to order from Burlington Flatbread downstairs. They usually have a good meat and a good vegetarian special with yummy toppings from local farmers and cheese producers. Let us know if there are any special requests.

I'm not free Sunday afternoon but I will be posting invites as I paddle throughout the summer, many times on weekends.
