Lazy Sunday afternoon paddle out of Mallett's Bay

The weather looks nice (at the moment) for Sunday and perhaps even will be in the low 70s. Let's enjoy the end of summer and paddle a few miles out of Mallett's Bay. No rush so rec boats (under 12 ft in length) should be able to keep up fine. Weather can change at any time so be prepared with paddle float, spray skirt, pump, and something warm to layer with.

I still feel like I am rocking a bit as I sit in my chair! There were some waves and resistance when not paddling in the protected parts of the bay but not too tough to get through. More fun than scary.

Fun paddle in a brisk wind out around Marble Island and then over to Malletts Bay Yacht Club

It is gusting but winds will diminish as the after continues. I am definitely going to show up and give it a try. Maybe it will be fun like last Wednesday evening.

Thinking I might bail out as it will probably be two hours plus round trip driving for me for one hr paddling. Does not make a lot if sense? The winds here in the MRV are howling. NOAA last time I checked said up to 25 mph gusts. What's everyone thinking?

Thanks for letting us know. I saw the lake on my way to church and there are big white cap waves. Be sure to check NOAA forecast as we get closer to time. We may be challenged by waves and wind and only last an hour. ;).

    Hi Everyone,

I'm not sure I can go very far with you as I need to be back by 3pm. I would like to spend some time practicing rolling my kayak and am planning to arrive a little early around noon to do this. Just wanted to mention this in case anyone else is interested in joining me.
