Lake Champlain is as big as I'd like to paddle. I love the nature and variety of the shore as opposed to the wide open expanses of the big lake. Lately, we've been doing the Mississquoi and Connecticut Rivers.
It is a Pygmy Coho 17.5' fiberglass covered wood kayak. Last year we started do segments of the Northern Forest Canoe Trail for as a way to explore a lot of different waters.
Intermediate. I don't do rolls and crazy stuff. Long distance -OK. Big waves? Only if I am running with them for dry land.
I built a Pygmy Coho kayak in 1996 and have been paddling it every year since then. My favorite place to paddle and camp is in the streams and lakes of the Adirondacks.
