What do you hope to gain from spiritual practice? What are your goals?

I aspire to develop the wisdom to end my own suffering, and one day help others do the same.

Do you have any experience with meditation and/or Buddhism?

I started meditating when i was a freshman in college, about 15 years ago. For many years I practiced Zen meditation, and dabbled in the Theravaden teachings of the Thai Forest tradition. I came to Chan Buddhism about 5 years ago.

Introduction

Hi, I have been cultivating with BLI for almost five years and have found it very beneficial. In November of 2012, I became a monk under our teacher, Chan Master YongHua. Let me know if you have any questions.

What XianJie is saying about this Meetup Group

Since I began practicing Chan here at Lu Mountain Temple several years ago, I have made great progress in my meditation, and I feel much more stable and grounded. This practice is very challenging, but if you are serious about your spiritual path, I highly recommend it. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions.
