Runaround Sue Vintage Charity Fashion Show

Adorable vintage clothes + a fashion show + 1920s dancing! This is a non-crafting event, but it still seems right in our wheelhouse (who doesn't want to learn the lindy hop??) And as an extra bonus, it's for a good cause. The cost is $10 at the door.

Provided

Here's the description a la City Paper:

The first 50 people to arrive will get a goodie bag filled with gifts from local businesses. The runway show starts at 9 p.m. and will feature models wearing vintage fashions. Afterward, enjoy live music by the V-Tones and the Flat Foot Floozies. The Roaring 20s Jazz Club will lead dancers through the swing and lindy hop. Proceeds will benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

Had a great time! That was definitely something different. I totally enjoyed the fashion show, the company, and it was some really great people watching. Dopplegangers sure were out last night, lol!

I looked around briefly for everyone after the show, but I felt super tired afterwards and left pretty soon. Being 8 months pregnant can do that to you ha! Hope the show looked as awesome from the front as it did backstage :)

That's completely understandable! The show looked amazing, I wanted everything, and am trying to figure out how I can pull off a tutu :D

I'm ending up volunteering backstage...so I will be there, but not in the front. Will everyone be hanging out afterwards?

    February 16, 2013

    • Theresa

Oh fun! I can't speak for everyone, but I'm sure plenty of us will hang around, please come find us when you finish your duties! Good luck back there, I'm sure it will be crazy :)

Hi girls, for those unsure how to find our group, one of our own Allison will be handing out the goodie bags at the door and can point you in the right direction. She also gave us an insider tip that the event is expected to sell out quickly (its a small venue) so try to get there as early as possible (doors open[masked]). See you tonight!

Joy, dinner beforehand sounds like a great idea! Home Team @ 6 sounds good to me, I've never been before, but I've heard good things.

Also, correct me if I'm thinking of the wrong bar, but I think the Tin Roof is short on parking, so carpooling might be a good idea for those who can. I'm coming from Mt. Pleasant, so if anyone would like to join my ride, just let me know

Sorry guys, won't be able to make it. :(

Going off Allison's comment about the goodie bags, doors actually open at 8pm. So if you want to try to grab one, you'll need to get there early. Also, let me know if anyone's interested in meeting up a little early, maybe around 6pm for food/drinks and then heading over right before 8. Home Team BBQ is really close or if someone else has a suggestion since this isn't really my part of town...

If you are one of the lucky first 50 people to arrive, you will receive a goodie bag from Runaround Sue containing a fabulous vintage-inspired pinback from me. Enjoy! See everybody there!

Sounds like a great time but I'll be out of town. We should definitely do more of these types of things.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
