In this class we are going to have some basic Thanksgiving desserts like pumpkin pie and chocolate and we are going to pair them with different wines to show you how the food affects the wine and vice versa. We are going to have Cabernets, Ports, Rieslings,Eiswein style wine. Cara the wine director at Halls Chophouse is going to talk about different styles of fortified wines like Madeiras, sherry, etc as well as different sweet white wines such as Sauternes. If you want to impress your guests with pairing wines with your Thanksgiving meal this class will definitely get you there! Lets have fun learning, eating, and sipping on wine!!
Everyone is more than welcome to bring other foods, a good food to bring would be cheese and crackers. Just for suggestions, the cheeses that go best with the sweet whites are blue cheeses or strong flavored soft cheeses. Best with the port would be hard aged cheeses.
