Have you ever etched glass? Yeah, me neither. Sounds fun though, right? Take a look at the pics below for some inspiration.
Materials you'll need:
1. Glassware. Bring some wine glasses, a vase, or whatever you think you'd like to etch.
2. Vinyl, Stickers, Stencils or whatever you'd like to use for your image to etch. I'm still looking into the different possibilities of what you can use. One super easy way I discovered was using painter's tape and an exacto knife to cut out the image. Check out Young House Love's blog for an example of this. You can also just buy vinyl letters/numbers or stickers to etch over (like the jars in the pic below).
I'll provide the Armour Etching Cream for the group. Unless you think you'll do more etching in your future and want to go ahead and buy your own. I'll also bring an exacto knife and paint brushes but if anyone else has some they'd be willing to share, that'd be great.
I've posted some links on our Pinterest page that goes over some of the different techniques.
Unless someone wants to host this at their home, we can just have it at my office again. I have code for main doors that I'll give out so we won't have any issues this time with the doors being locked :)
I've never done this before so I'm no expert, but if anyone has any questions feel free to post below or email me. Also feel free to discuss ideas. I think this will be a fun one!

Christine - Have fun with your family & we'll see you at the next one!
Emily - Since the first two Meetups were on Tuesdays, I wanted to mix it up and give people who usually can't make it those days a chance to come. I'll keep changing it up and will probably even have something on the weekend, too. Hope to see you at the next one!
Hey Jessica - Yes, it is an open group, however; the meetup is limited to 10 spots because of space restrictions. I'll open up a waiting list in case any spots open up.
I would love to join as well! Dont mind bring my own supplies if needed
Darn darn darn! I was looking forward to the etching. Joy,Thanks for the message of the postponement.
I thought I posted this earlier.... I have done this once or twice and can't wait to do it again. I would highly recommend getting the stencils designed specifically for glass etching or a heavy adhesive back vinyl. Contact paper does not work very well as it peels back very easily.
I grabbed some scraps of vinyl from work and I'll have some extra, if anyone is having trouble finding vinyl or doesn't need a ton, just let me know!
If I have stickers and I'm just taping off a box with painter's tape around it, do I still need vinyl?

Really want to do this one. But I am only free Tuesday and Saturday evenings.
