You forgot CoffeScript. ;-) I'm not convinced these tools are helpful. It's better to solve the root problem than add yet another layer of abstraction.
AMD, SVG/Raphael, Canvas, any of the HTML5 goodies like web sockets or localStorage, OOCSS, CSS animations and transitions, creating browser extensions. (Basically, any excuse to spend 90 minutes pretending like IE doesn't exist.)
you can probably program functionally in js and python just fine. also we might work in the same building
