Fantasy of Lights

Beginning on December 1st every year at 6 p.m., one of the largest lighted displays in South Carolina will illuminate the world famous Swan Lake Iris Gardens!  Drive through a holiday dream world... Swan Lake Iris Gardens is transformed into a holiday wonderland! Children and “children at heart” will marvel at the spectacular display of lighted imagery as the lake and gardens twinkle with the magnificent glitter of more than one million lights. A Floral Wonderland:  The beautiful black waters of Swan Lake form the setting for the spectacular Iris Gardens. The lake is dotted with colorful islands, and wildlife is abundant. The only public park in the United States to feature all eight swan species, Swan Lake-Iris Gardens is also home to some of the nation's most intensive plantings of Japanese iris, which bloom yearly in mid to late May and last until the beginning of June. The garden also boasts many other floral attractions, including colorful camellias, azaleas, day lilies, and Japanese magnolias. A Butterfly Garden and Chocolate Garden both delight the senses.   The world famous 150 acre Swan Lake-Iris Gardens come alive with color during the Christmas season with the nighttime Fantasy of Lights display, featuring more than 1,000,000 varicolored sparkling lights in an array of colors and shapes and 150 lighted figures.  The Living Nativity, Trinity UMC, Sumter The journey begins with the census takers and continues with the Annunciation, the journey to Bethlehem, Herod’s Court, the shepherds on the hillside and into the town of Bethlehem. There is the market place, the inn and the stable.  Live animals add an authentic touch.

Fellowship Bible Church is taking their bus to visit the Christmas Village in Sumter, SC.  They have generously offered for us to join them on the trip.  The bus will be leaving from the church at 3pm SHARP.  We will drive down and have supper at a Golden Corral (2385 Walmart Blvd  Sumter, SC 29150 ) near the village.  After, we will go visit the village.  Part of the tour will be driven through, but the actual village does not allow large buses to drive through so we will park and walk the rest.  It will be a wonderful evening.  We estimate a return time to the church in Lancaster between 10-11pm, BUT this is very dependent on traffic during the tour.  If return time is critical for you, you may want to meet us down there.

Everyone will be responsible for their own meal, but the trip down on the bus is a free gift to us and the church families that will be joining us.

Please do not RSVP unless you are sure you will be able to attend.  As seats open up I will move people from the waitlist to 'yes'.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
