I have always wanted to understand as much about existence as possible, and became acquainted with philosophy in high school.
What the psychosocial future of our species is. (I believe our species is just a toddler psychosocially. We are talking, hi tech (and very angry) chimpanzees, with a long way to go before we stop doing bad and tragic things that come naturally.
I should do my part to make the world a better place*, within my sphere of influence & within the limits of my capabilities. (*Maximal joy, contentment, appreciation; minimal pain, suffering, disability, early death, for everyone, now & in future.)
I am a semiretired psychiatrist with a lifelong interest in philosophy. I was in a philosophy discussion group for over 10 years, and it was one of the most growth promoting experiences I have had. I hope that others can have such an experience.
Great group of friendly people with open minds and intellectual curiosity.
