I am requesting that our members review the topic Our Forum Ethics. I have had Steve as an assistant organizer for a long time, and I have appreciated his help. However, I do not feel comfortable with a decision to remove a member from the group being made by anyone but me, and I think that there needs to be clarification of that issue by our group before it is true in our group again that someone other than I would be in a position to make such a decision. In this case, I was surprised when it happened, and I would not have taken such action myself. Steve may be the wiser of the two of us, but I think there are profound philosophical and ethical issues involved that all of us should assume some responsibility for.
I hope and assume that Steve will understand that I am not disapproving of him and that I have valued him as assistant organizer, and that my concern is more about the ethics of our group organizational procedures, for which I am ultimately responsible by virtue of being the Organizer of our group.
All of us have some sort of "philosophy of life," even though we may not have verbalized it. Here you can get ideas for your own philosophy of life. You can see what others think of your own philosophical ideas, and you can help others to become clearer in their own thinking.
When there is difference of opinion, we have an opportunity for "friendly debate," a very growth-promoting experience.
