My worry is that some members of our group may not wish what could be an exponential growth of emails to everyone in the group as the write-up regarding Peikoff?s presentation of Objectivism is discussed. These replies go to everyone in the group, including those who have not requested the write-up and are not interested in the subject. The Message Board is more suitable.
What I recommend is that this discussion be moved to the Message Board. What we cannot do, of course, is post the write-up there. Members can request their own personal copy of the write-up, and I don?t believe there would be a problem with quoting from it as Rick has done.
I have begun a thread on the Message Board called ?Discussion of Bill?s Critique.?
All of us have some sort of "philosophy of life," even though we may not have verbalized it. Here you can get ideas for your own philosophy of life. You can see what others think of your own philosophical ideas, and you can help others to become clearer in their own thinking.
When there is difference of opinion, we have an opportunity for "friendly debate," a very growth-promoting experience.
