Mirrorless Meetup

MILC (mirrorless interchangeable lens camera) systems are fast becoming an interesting option for photographers looking for lighter, smaller gear than traditional DSLRs, which are largely unchanged from the film SLRs on which they are based.

While there are scenarios where a DSLR's fast AF and traditional controls make it the optimal tool for the job, MILCs are also ideal for other scenarios where their compact size and light weight provide a benefit.

Bring your MILC (mirrorless interchangeable lens camera) if you have one, or just your curiousity if you don't, and spend some time sharing and shooting.

We'll meet at P-Stone under the trees (go inside if the weather doesn't do us any favors) for some chat and camera handling and then wander out to shoot along Independence Park and into Elizabeth.

Okay, so Fed Ex could not get into my building and I finally got the box today. I have not had a chance to open it! I am a little afraid..........I have a certain phobic reaction to new technology.

Well, that was a nice time... I've definitely never seen so many examples of MILCs all in one place. Post some pics if you have some you're proud of!

Was planning on coming, but we are going to be going out of town this weekend now, so cannot make it. But please do another one of this type of event as I have an E-M1 and would love to converse with others that use a MILC! I used to shoot a D7000, and have had a lot of pains in the switch, so would like to see how others have done with the switch.

I can barely lift it all, but I am wondering about long lenses and the actual weight savings for telephoto work. Don't want to rebuy all that equipment.

Surprised this just came up. Just returned from my yearly 2 week trip. Lots of BS with airlines and 3/4 LOL jetliners! Need to look into leaving my FF Canon and army of lenses back home while still not losing image quality on the road. Looking forward to this.

I would have loved to attend but will not be around. It would be great if this is repeated another time.

Oooh, I tentatively RSVP'd yes, I'm pretty sure I'm in town that day and can make it to this one!

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
