Current Experience Level?

Not ignorant, but I class myself as an experienced beginner. I have completed photography and other "Fine Arts" courses at Winthrop University in Rock Hill, SC.

What is your favorite theme you photograph?

I like "faux" stuff; images that are not real, but are convincingly real to the viewer. This work is done by me using Rhinoceros 3D and Flamingo nX plus Photoshop CS 5 and Illustrator CS 5.5. A good web site to see "faux" work is at www.worth1000.com.

What do you shoot with?

I have a Pentax K-x DSLR with 18-55 mm and[masked] mm kit lenses, plus a 35mm "prime" lens. I use a Kodak Z915 with 10X optical zoom and a Kodak Z990 (a Bridge camera with 30X optical zoom) for 80% of my shots. DSLR's are TOO big!

What do you hope to get out of the group?

How to take and manipulate photos for "faux" and "special effects" creations and get to know club members who have similar interests.

Introduction

I am a retired guy, interested in digital photography and Photoshop to make "faux" pictures. I am interested in making images that are not real, but after I've done my manipulations they'll look convincingly realistic, especially in Giclée prints.

What Dennis B. is saying about this Meetup Group

From what I saw the club encourages a range of interests and plenty of help and discussion. If a hobbiest is interested in photography and photoshop then he/she can do no better than join this Meetup Group.
