UX Book Club - Pre-Read Intro Meetup

Hi Folks! We're starting a UX Book Club meetup for the Charlotte Area. **
http://twitter.com/UXBookClubCLT Bermon has graciously collaborated with us to use the Meetup site for the Charlotte UX Meetup Group to organize the book club meetups -- keeping things easier for everyone. Thanks, Bermon! The first book we're going to read is
Gamestorming by Dave Gray, Sunni Brown and James Macanufo. Read more about it here:
ABOUT THE PRE-READ INTRO EVENT Before we have our first actual book club discussion, we're going to have an informal "come by, hang out and meet folks" event.
Where: Amelie's French Bakery
When: September 9. 7:30 - 8:30 PM.
That's this Thursday! Sorry about the short notice, but to make it worthwhile,
if you're one of the first 10 to both RSVP and arrive at Amelie's, you'll get a free Gamestorming book! (If you see 10 or more people in the RSVP list, don't fret -- the Macquarium folks don't count against total!)
ABOUT THE FIRST BOOK CLUB MEETING Mark your calendars for the first Book Club meeting on
Thursday, October 14 at 7:30. Venue to be announced. One of the book authors, Dave Gray of XPlane and Dachis Group, will be Skyping in to talk with us about the book! **The Charlotte UX Book Club is a side project of Macquarium, a UX consultancy headquartered in Atlanta, with a growing outpost in Charlotte.

I enjoyed meeting all of you! Looking forward to the book read and more opportunity to chat (sans music). :)

Thanks everyone for turning out. Improvements for the next meeting: less music, more talk. Hope to see you in October and let us know if you have any suggestions for future books for the group to read.

Great Idea! A good chance to meet everyone. This meeting had a definite "Goal" in mind - read a book! This will also help us build a common repore or language over time. I would like to meet a little earlier in the evening though.

Can't argue with a free book and chat with fellow UXers.

mellow, but definitely a cool time. Was fun chatting in a smaller environment. Can't wait to read the book! Also, funny story: went to Black Finn uptown afterwards, and the book was sitting on the table, and chick from Cali walks by and starts talking about the book! Do i get a referral fee? :)

Brent: yes it's Gamestorming -- sorry didn't realize we were unclear above. I'll edit.

Is the free book Gamestorming? I was about to order a copy and didn't want a duplicate :)

I'm surprised by the level of growth I've seen since becoming an organizer, it's given me more confidence in my abilities.
