The User Experience Architect will be managing a team of interaction designers responsible for delivering concepts, detailed wireframes, user scenarios, user requirements, user task analysis, mental models, interaction design specifications, and UX library documentation. Also, the User Experience Architect will work closely with visual designers, user researchers, content producers, copywriters, and online merchants committed to developing innovative, easy-to-use, next generation shopping experiences.
User Experience Architect Responsibilities:
•Responsible for the overall planning, execution and success of the UX projects you oversee, managing inputs from the Business, Program Management and IT.
•Act as a key catalyst in driving a culture of teamwork and innovation centered around the needs of our customers.
•Facilitate discovery meetings (including kickoff, brand discussions, audience discovery, and definition of business, user and project objectives).
•Conduct stakeholder interviews, brainstorming sessions, and features and functionality workshops
•Inspire, lead, and develop trust, both internally and externally.
•Assess data from multiple sources (product requirements, tech constraints, UX research, web analytics…) and synthesize it in order to develop efficient user scenarios, taxonomies, classification schemes, navigation systems, design patterns, etc.
•As needed, create and effectively present UX deliverables (wireframes, workflows, prototypes, etc.) to explain and negotiate design solutions to key stakeholders.
•Develop competitive assessments and perform site heuristic reviews.
•Help define, request and incorporate relevant and recent UX research and data from customer feedback to appropriately inform design decisions and overall UX strategy.
•Help define UX performance metrics (error rate, abandon rate, average number of clicks, perceived easiness, etc.) for every project to track its success.
User Experience Architect Requirements:
•8+ years experience
•Bachelors (Masters preferred) in a design discipline, Human Factors, Human Computer Interaction, Information Design, Digital Media, Communication Design, Interaction Design, Psychology or a related field
•5+ years of UX or information architecture industry experience with web sites and/or web-based applications
•Evidence of successful team leadership across multiple project lifecycles; ability to attract, train, retain and mentor top talent. Must be able to manage effectively within a matrixed structure
•Thorough understanding of overall web site design, including basic usability, industry standards, web analytics, e-comm, and brand
•Proficient to expert in some of these tools: Microsoft Visio, Omnigraffle, Axure, Morae, Coremetrics, Photoshop, Fireworks, UserZoom
•Broad UX/IA portfolio of work which highlights successful projects (e-commerce highly preferred)
