This is a social club for vegans, vegetarians, raw foodists, and people interested in these lifestyles. When we dine together, you must order vegetarian or vegan food. Couples are welcome!
A photo of you (a clear photo of your face) is required to join and remain in this Meetup group. Photos help us find each other when we meet at bars or restaurants. The group is private, so non-members cannot see your profile, who is signed up for events, or the location of the events. Meetup advised that your photo for a private group does not show up in your other groups (unless you post it there), so you can have a face photo for this group, and a different photo (or no photo) for other groups. You change photos within "MyProfile" of each group (not in your main Meetup profile).
We are continuing the "Wine Up / Veg Dine" event 7PM the first Tuesday of every month. Andrea, Charlotte Director of The Humane League, is scheduling Vegan Drinks for the 3rd Thursday of every month at 7PM. The location for Vegan Drinks changes every month, so check back to see where it will be.
Please keep your RSVPs updated so another member can have your spot if you cannot attend, especially if the event location limits attendance to a small group (restaurants or a members home).

There are two types of vegans: those who do it to save animals from cruelty/ death, and those who do it for their own health (this includes those doing it for the environment, which impacts everyone's health). *1 of 5 benefits of eating vegan is a decreased risk of food poisoning. Any food at any time can harbor harmful bacteria, but you decrease your risk of common bugs like salmonella and e. coli by opting out of animal products. http://eatdrinkbetter.com/2014/06/28/5-unusual-benefits-going-vegan-warning-poop-talk/?
