This is an age 21 and older social club for Charlotte area vegans, vegetarians, raw foodists, and people interested in these lifestyles. If you order food at one of our Events, it must be vegetarian or vegan. Couples are welcome!

We meet for 2 social events scheduled EVERY MONTH, plus various other events:
"Wine Up / Veg Dine" at 7PM on the 1st Thursday of every month (1/2 price wine night) at a wine bar. This is an optional eating and drinking event. You can dine and have water or non-alcoholic beverages, or arrive later to socialize. The wine bar also serves beer.
Vegan Drinks is the 3rd Thursday of every month at 7PM. The location for Vegan Drinks is a drinking establishment and changes every month, so check back to see where Andrea, Charlotte Director of The Humane League schedules it. This is also an optional eating and drinking event. You can dine and have water or non-alcoholic beverages, or arrive later to socialize.
We also meet at restaurants for lunches or dinners, and sometimes go to a movie at Ballantyne VIllage, Manor, or Park Terrace theaters. If anyone want to help organize a picnic in the spring (maybe we can have one with all 5 Charlotte area veg Meetup groups, including Lk. Norman and Matthews), please contact the Organizer.

Most people continue to eat the same way their entire life, but sometimes change during a health crisis if they learn that a vegan diet may improve their health*. Some, lucky to meet an advocate for animal rights, learn about the lives of animals and birds raised for meat or dairy production. There are usually two initial motivations to become vegetarian or vegan: to save animals from cruelty/ death,and/orfor health reasons*(this includes "for the environment", which impacts everyone's health). After awhile one realizes it's for all three reasons.
