  • Harmony House

You are welcome to join us in the Zendo at Harmony House at 6:45 PM for Seated Meditation, Walking Meditation, and reading & discussion of the teachings of the Buddha.

To all newcomers - We look forward to meeting as many of you as possible at our next Sunday evening sitting! If this will be your first visit with us please arrive at Harmony House by 6:30 for a quick run-through of the details of the Soto Zen style of meditation. Also, newcomers are encouraged to have a look at the following video: Introduction to Zen Meditation, The Still Point on You Tube for lots of good information about Soto Zen. This is a great time to join the group as we have just begun reading from a new Dharma book,  "Opening the Hand of Thought" by Kosho Uchiyama published by Wisdom Publications. The book is translated and edited by Tom Wright,

The meditation was a great experience considering this was my first session. I enjoyed meditation, as it was peaceful and relaxing. I also enjoyed the Dharma discussion afterwards.

I love the structure and tradition of this practice. Rochelle was wonderful in explaining the methods of meditation and very patient with me. I felt very welcome and love the readings afterwards as well as the share portion from long time practitioners. I have a lot to learn and feel that I can gain a lot from being a part of this group.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
