The Charlotte IBD Meetup usually meets on the 2nd Wednesday each month from 7-9pm at the Huntersville Family Fitness and Aquatics Center near exit 23 in Huntersville.

The typical format is three fold. An overview of the broad market, and IBD lesson provided by Investors Business Daily, and a review of individual stocks.

This is a great opportunity for those who are just learning the IBD Can Slim system as well as those investors who are more experienced. The CAN SLIM system was the top rated system as documented by the American Association of Individual Investors. The CAN SLIM system returned an average annual return of 35.3% versus a 3.3% return for the S&P 500 for the 12 year period of 1998-2009.

It is my understanding from IBD that their subscribers who attend meetups are, on average, more successful that those who do not. This makes sense as it is a great opportunity to learn from the IBD team as well as trade ideas with other investors.
