GUMSHOE is an RPG system created by Robin Laws to allow GMs and players to do games that involve investigation and detective work. The idea is that the players always have the clues they need when doing an investigation. This is to allow the GM and players to keep the game moving and, hopefully, interesting.
Night's Black Agents is the latest of the games that use the GUMSHOE system. Players take the roles of former (or current) spies and secret agents in a post-Cold War world. The agents have either resigned, or were burned and now make their living in the shadowy underground where mercs and former spies lurk. The agents at first didn't care what missions they have taken, but there's always been something fishy about what is going on. At this point they learn that they have been working for a conspiracy of a sort they never expected: vampires. At this point the players realize it is their job to eradicate the vampire conspiracy. Where do these vampires come from, and what is their purpose? Is the conspiracy the only conspiracy? It is up to the players to find out.
I hope to start up a game with no more than six players. My plan is to play a demo adventure that is an introduction to the GUMSHOE and NBA setting without overwhelming people. The demo should take no more than 30 minutes from the start. If, after the demo, there is still interest in playing the game, we can go ahead and go through the character creation process and plan how to proceed.
I haven't set the location yet; it will probably be at The End Game Center for the initial session but may move elsewhere if we continue and/or depending on the noise.
Let me know if there is interest in trying the game system. Thanks. Feel free to ask any questions.
