CoveCon - Potluck Dinner

Hi all! CoveCon is coming up more quickly than seems possible, so Craig and I thought we should go ahead and start organizing the food situation. I'll be your handy point person for the organizing, so please RSVP with what you're thinking of providing. Keep in mind we will have no kitchen access, so you might want to lean towards items that won't get too weird sitting out all day, or else bring a cooler along to store things away. Also, remember to bring everything your item will need - serving dishes and implements, that kind of thing! There's no outside alcohol allowed in the clubhouse, but the bar will be open later in the day, along with the restaurant, so if we don't manage to sustain ourselves there will eventually be other options. So, some suggestions:

Durable and/or heavy snackage

Crockpot items, maybe?

Plasticware/plates/cups/napkins

Soda/water

Ice

Sweet things

We'll probably need multiple people for each of these items, so don't worry if someone snags something you're considering. And please contribute some thoughts to this process, I'm sure you all will have better ideas than I do! Thanks!

Kelly, thank you so much for organizing the potluck for the second year in a row. It is greatly appreciated. Thank you to everyone that brought and shared food!

90+ Cake Truffles just came off the line. I swear I've seen an episode of I Love Lucy that looked just like my kitchen n hour ago! :)

I'm making a few different things: one bread/dessert dish and a couple of appetizer things (but more substantial, made with meat)

Is this food for all day? No sustenance snacks? Anyone interested in kettle corn, variety pack of chips, or goldfish? Or just real meal stuff and I should keep thinking? ha ha.

A special form of these, (designed by Craig Girard himself!) will be making their first and only appearance. :) I'm guessing there will be close to 100. https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10150111121806775.283864.100112196774&type=3

Hot dogs in slow cooker. If I think of something healthier I will update.

That sounds good Craig - I can do burgers/veggie burgers in the slow cooker, and between the two of us we can provide a good base.

I'll be picking up some supplies on Friday, Craig, so I'm happy to grab condiments for our meat (and/or meat-like) foodstuffs - let me know if you have any special requests!

You guys are awesome! We will want for nothing. Since we won't have a fridge, bring some cold storage along for your more perishable items, and I'll also have a large cooler with space in it for a few of your goodies if need be. This is shaping up to be the fanciest gaming day ever!

I'll probably make some cup cakes/brownie/fruit pie/casserole. Or Chinese snacks. Too many recipes in my head now and I can't decide lol! But I will surely bring something.

I can bring something a little entree-like; either some slow-cooker pulled pork and buns or something non-slow-cooker-y that might not get too gross as the day wears on.

I can bring something sweet. I brought Cake Truffles last year, so this year I'll dig around and see what other energy (sugar) treats I can come up with. :)
