    Hey Guys,

I'll be using the following browser plugin to demo the restful API endpoints; If you want to follow along with the hands on demo, please come to the meeting with the following plugin installed in your local browser:

    * RESTClient (available for Firefox, Chrome and Safari)

    Thanks!

    Lisa

I'm ditching the Chattanooga Area Library Association meeting for this. Sounds like a good point for a newbie to jump in.

This will be the first presentation in a series. In this one, we'll cover setting up a Drupal 7 site using Drupal Services and installing the supplemental modules (views_datastore and others) to facilitate building out JSON Rest endpoints. Then we'll demo a native iOS app that consumes data edited on the web server through the restful API using the endpoints we set up.

In a later session (or if we have time we'll do some of this in this session), we'll demo creating and updating records on the web server using the API, including authentication using sessions. We'll also discuss setting up custom content types with additional fields, what the limitations are with respect to the Restful API, and the JSON structures for those different fields.
