THIS HIKE IS GREAT FOR BEGINNERS
AND GREAT FOR FAMILIES WITH CHILDREN
As you walk this trail, there is a sense of nostalgia of simpler times that beg to be discovered again. We will be hiking a significant portion of the trail along the shoreline, so will have some awesome lake views as well as the opportunity to see a good amount of wildlife. Tiffany even has a special surprise in store for those that join her.

There's plenty of wildlife to be seen, as this area is home to a variety of different species.
You will also be soothed by the sounds of the water lapping onto the shorelines.
The trail we will hike is a 4.5 mile loop trail that would be great for beginners, families, or anyone looking for a leisurely and serene stroll around coves and inlets.

The trail is fairly easy, being generally flat with some gentle slopes, but like most trails, it does have some tree routes. If there are recent rains, a few areas may be a little muddy, but otherwise the trail should be fine.
The trail is well marked, and generally wide, making it a nice walk for a group. This will be a leisurely pace for all ages and abilities.
Since this hike follows the shoreline, there may be some breezes blowing up from the lake, so be sure to dress appropriately.
There is ample parking.... And there are public restrooms at the park.
If you're new to hiking, and don't have any hiking boots ... no worries... running shoes will be fine on this trail.
Again ... those new to hiking, or with children, will find this to be a great beginner trail..... So, come on out and join Tiffany, meet some new friends, and have some fun. You'll enjoy a great trail, and learn some interesting things about the hidden gem in Chattanooga's backyard
Be sure to bring some water, a few snacks, a camera for some great photo opps, and a smile. It's going to be a great day !

Hey - guys check for ticks. I found one on me. If you do have a tick on you or child - soak/pour shampoo on a cotton ball rub over tick then leave for 15-20 secs. Remove cotton ball and tick should be stuck to cotton ball with shampoo. They release because they can't breath. So another tip for getting ticks off you. Pediatrician approved:)
Will get the pics I took up later this evening. So nice to meet everyone. I had an awesome time being your hike leader and sharing the tips and facts with everyone. Look forward to seeing ya'll on the trail soon.

I loved the hike. It was great. It was a really low impact hike. It was muddy but that didn't cause any extreme problems. I would like to do that hike many more times. I enjoyed meeting everyone and thought it was great with all the children. They were real troppers. Thanks Tiffany for hosting the hike. Hope to hike again with your group.
