PETS: Dogs are welcome as long as they remain on-leash.
We will walk approximately 5-6 miles along a trail that is mostly paved or gravel, covering most of the trails in the park, including a short walk down to see the views of the quarry. Part of the hike will also include a more challenging section going up the Boy Scout Trail, which is a steep half-mile climb up Big Ridge before descending back down.
While most of the hike will be on the easy side of moderate due to some gentle rolling hills, the Boy Scout Trail segment will be a half mile of more strenuous hiking. We'll take rest and water stops to get everyone past the challenging part but want to introduce folks to this hidden gem for a truly good workout. This is a trail with some roots and rocks, but no rock hopping involved.
Very young children may find the Boy Scout Trail too challenging.
