Difficulty:  easy to moderate

Pace:   leisurely

Map to parking lot at trailhead

Meet at the Spears Street parking lot, which is at the far north end of Spears, past the residential area.  The street is a dead end, and the parking lot is off to the right.

The group will head up the short connector trail from the Spears parking lot to join up with the 'blue loop' that goes around the park.  This will consist of Hill City, Gig City, and the Double J trails.  We'll then detour off the blue loop trails to walk a portion of the Cherokee trail so that we can take advantage of the one-of-a-kind view of the Scenic City from the overlook platform.  Most of the trail is on rolling dirt single-track type trails, but a portion of the hike is also on paved double-track, and there will be some short, moderately steep sections.

Whether you've hiked Stringer's Ridge before and love it so much that you want to go back, or you've never been and want to check it out ... it's worth the experience.

Please arrive early or on time

so as not to hold up the group

I was told I need to sign up for the hikins, ie. Stringer's Ridge. Is there any place in this e-mail/site where to do that? Is there a limit? How can I know if I am in the list? Are there available spots? How many? Please, clarify. Thanks.
