This is a 5.4 mile roundtrip and has 2 big climbs. It is rated strenuous but we will take it slow and look at all the nature along the way, especially on the uphills.
Carpool meets at the Walmart on Highway 153 at 9 AM.
We should be at the trailhead on Heiss Mountain Road near Jones Gap Road at 9:30 to 9:45.
Be sure to share in the gas expense with those that drive.
Be sure to bring a LUNCH and WATER.
You'll want to bring a camera as well.

Just a reminder that friendly leashed
dogs are more than welcome to join
the group. Just be sure that your

No-Shows: As with all Meetup's, please be polite -- if you are a YES RSVP, please show up. If you can't make it, please change your YES to a NO as soon as possible. Please don't be a "no-show!" As a group, we are fortunate that most of our members are very respectful in this way, and we thank you and appreciate you for that.
WEATHER: As with all outdoor events, if it's raining/stormy or very poor trail conditions, we may have to cancel. If the weather is questionable, please check this event page before you leave home.
Please make every effort to arrive early or on time
so that you do not hold up the group.
