We will be hiking an in-and-out

from Signal Point to Edwards Point

HIKE STATS:

Meeting Time: 8:30 AM

Meeting Place: Walmart - Signal Mtn Road

Hike Distance: 6 miles

Estimated Hike Time: 4 hours

Difficulty: Moderate to difficult

We will start the hike at Signal Point, hike approximately 3 miles toward Edwards Point, and then return.

Along the way, we will encounter:

views of the Tennessee River

interesting rock formations

overlooks with beautiful views

swinging/suspension bridge

Some parts of the trail will be flat, but others will be rocky, so it will be a mix.

Due to limited parking at the trailhead, and us not wanting to take up all the spots (so as to allow other hikers to park there as well), please plan on meeting at the carpool location by 8:30am. The group will leave promptly by 8:40am to proceed to the trailhead. Ryan will start the hike at 9am, so it is imperative that the group leave the carpool on time. Please be early or on time in arriving there. The carpool location is the Walmart on Signal Mountain Road, listed at the top of this meetup page.

No-Shows: As with all Meetup's, please be polite -- if you are a YES RSVP, please show up. If you can't make it, change your YES to a NO as soon as possible. Please don't be a "no-show!"

WEATHER: As with all outdoor events, if it's raining/stormy or very poor trail conditions, we may have to cancel. If the weather is questionable, please check this event page before you leave home.

Maybe I missed it, but don't see where the meet up carpool location will be. Can you please advise?

  The location for the carpool is the Walmart that is given at the top of the meetup page. It is the one at 501 Signal Mountain Road. We encourage everyone to meet there and ride together to Signal Point so that CHM does not take up all the parking spots at Signal Point.

  Park toward the back of the parking lot, closest to the road. That way, we will allow paying customers to have the closest spots. Plus, it makes it easier to find the group. I will not be there myself, but Tiffany will be helping with the carpooling on this event. (thanks Tiffany) She drives a small white car, and will be standing outside of her car.

I have always wanted to do this one. I wish we had more Sunday hikes as I work on Saturdays. Any chance of scheduling this on a Sunday in the future? Thanks and enjoy!
