Two Gorge Run (Possum and Rock Creek Sections of the CT)

Will will meet at the store right off Hwy 111 at 7:00 am. It's the only store/gas station you will see to the right as soon as you get to the top of the mountain on Hwy 111 in Soddy Daisy. It's the Jones Gap Road exit.

You will have two options to this run.
1) Start at Heiss Mountain Road trail head of the Possum Creek Section (just of Hwy 111) and end at the north end of the trail at Retro Hughes Road. Approx 10 mile run. You have the option to park a friends vehicle there to take you back.
2) Continue on to the Rock Creek Section of the CT from Retro Hughes and end at the north end of the Rock Creek Section taking the lower loop to the parking lot at Leggett Road. Approx 8 miles.

I plan to do both sections but others may not wish to therefore the option that best suits you.

If you decide to just do option 1 then you and a friend could stage a vehicle at Retro Hughes to take you back.
If you decide to take options 1 and two then please make sure to make appropriate arrangements to get back to your vehicles by riding and arranging with a friend.

*Please do not assume someone will take you back. Plan accordingly!!*

If you have not seen these trails they are very beautiful to say the least. It will be a great time and a great run.

This course has some real steep climbs coming out of some of the gorges. Just remember to take your time. Walk if you have to and enjoy being out there.

Please bring plenty of water or food! Just what ever you think you will need!!

Here are some links with directions to the trail heads.

Starting point:

End of option 1: read the directions from the link above.

End of option 2:

Hope to see you there!!

The day with Fred, Jinny, and Jen was amazing! The forest was lush and water was gushing in the creeks with waterfalls cascading everywhere! Had a wonderful time and good company. I feel like I made some new friends!
