How to Build an Electric Race Car

Ok Something a bit different for June, Electric Racing Cars :)

David Cullimore is founder of Cullimore Racing and an Event Coordinator for Cheltenham Motorsports

David Competes in the Greenpower race series in the Formula 24+ category, the challenge is to design and build a single seat electric car to be raced at some of the most renowned circuits in the UK.

Each car utilises a standard Greenpower motor and battery, with the design criteria ranging from aerodynamics to rolling resistance and from electronics to reliability.

We are hoping to bring the car along although not sure if we will get it in the room!

David Says

"Current plan of action is explain the race series , go through design and theory (e.g. aerodynamics etc.) and then explain the construction of the car"

As usual there will be plenty of time for drinks and discussion afterwords, please feel free to bring in anything you are working on

Loved the enthusiasm of this Meetup. David Cullimore’s Jet was redesigned several times =D. Lucky there were no tools hanging about.

Dave did a superb job of explaining his electric race car and was honest in admitting areas where his knowledge was limited. His achievements are amazing, especially given his age.

Daves talk was great and the car he has build was amazing. For me this was our most inspirational meetup yet.

Fantastic talk by Dave. Apparently the first time he's given it, but it didn't show.

Sorry, I only intended to sign up, not RSPV this event. I do hope to come to future events, but this is just too short notice. It's a real pity as it's right up my street.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.

Henry, started Reno Motorcycle Riders
