Frogs! Toads! Salamanders! Come learn about the fascinating, hidden world of the vernal pool at night! Northern Baltimore County. Location will be given when you register. This is an easy walk from the parking area, but some areas are muddy and slippery. Bring a flashlight or headlamp. Participants should dress for the weather, including rain. Boots that can handle getting wet are a good idea. Vernal pools are sensitive habitats, so participants should remain along the edge of the pool to avoid disturbing breeding amphibians. The program will be led by Tom Scollins, a herpetologist with a passion for conservation and education. All age are welcome. Limit of 15 participants. Trip will go in light rain but will be postponed to April 6 if there is heavy rain or wind. Pre-registration is required. Since space is limited please let us know if are unable to attend after you have registered so we can open your slot to someone on the waitlist.
