A PFD (Personal Floatation Device) is required for all of our paddles. Do you have your own PFD or have acces to one?

Yes.

Please tell us a little about your previous kayaking experience. It's okay if you don't have a lot of experience.

I have paddled mostly on flat water for several years. I can roll for fun but not when I need it. I am a member of CPA.

What kind or type of kayak(s) do you own? If you'll be renting or borrowing from a friend that's okay too. We also have rental kayaks for members to use.

I have a custom cedar strip kayak with no rudder or skeg. I took it out in 40 mph gust. Not a great idea. But it does OK in most flat water situations. The Kayak in the photo is my first Kayak.

Why do you kayak? Some people paddle to relax and get away from it all outdoors, others to stay fit. The real crazies paddle just for the joy and fun of it. What's your reason?

When you get hooked on sitting on your booty all day long in the office and you are dying to do it on your off time too, you may as well watch the scenery go by. Besides, the great thing about Kayaking is that if you can’t take it anymore, the solution is a cap size away so it put things in perspective; every moment you decide to stay upright is a choice, you may as well be happy about it.

What do you hope to get out of joining this group? Some people want to improve their paddling skills others just want to socialize with fellow paddlers. Is there anything special you're looking for?

I am hopping the meetup reminders and like minded people get me off the computer and help me slow down the muscle atrophy.

Introduction

I am an open book sitting on the top shelf. I’ll tell you everything you would like to know when I see you.
