I do own a PFD and a paddle.
I have only been out twice kayaking, but I knew the first time that this is something I really want to get involved in. I really enjoyed the peace and quiet and the challenge. The first time I went out was on the West River, it was very early and there were no power boats moving around and the water was very still. It was an easy paddle. I also went out at Stoney Creek in the middle of the day, there were a lot more powerboats out and about, so I had to be careful of the wakes and staying out of their way. I still enjoyed it.
I have a Potomac Sport, Pathfinder 100. It is a beginner kayak for sure.
I want to kayak for all the reasons listed, it is relaxing on the water in the fresh air. I loved the challenge of it as well, I enjoy challenging myself to do new activities. I new that this was the sport for me.
I want to meet people that also enjoy paddling and a group that I can go out with on the water and enjoy nature.
Hi, my name is Ann. This is my third kayaking season with CKA. I am very excited to participate this season.
Great group of folks.
