No introduction yet
I've been paddling a kayak for almost 20 years now. I started out as a whitewater paddler and migrated over the years to mostly flatwater but can still get talked into some very easy whitewater on rare occasions. My paddling curriculum vitae includes seven years as a kayak instructor for L.L Bean and I'm entering my fourth year as the principle leader or organizer of a paddling group.
Currently in the garage or on top of the car: Pyranha Fusion Dagger Alchemy 14L Tahe Marine Bay Spirit 17
I wrote the question and yes I am one of the true crazies. The world looks like a kinder, gentler and a much more beautiful place from the seat of a kayak. Proper torso rotation during paddle strokes also helps keep my belt a couple notches tighter.
I really enjoy helping others discover the joys of kayaking. I started the Wednesday Night Paddler because I thought it would help me stay in shape by forcing me to get put and paddle at least one night a week. I've met and learned from lots of really interesting people and made some new true friends as a result. I hope to continue to enjoy meeting and learning from many more people in this new venue.
As the group organizer hopefully you would expect me to say this is an awesome group. It is! I think most of you would acknowledge that I put a fair amount of blood sweat and tears into making it great and I do. Despite everything I do though, this group wouldn't be half as awesome as it is without a whole bunch of truly fantastic members. Thank you everyone.
Is it too late to add my name to the meetup tomorrow at Riley's Lock? I have kayaked about three times with Pete Hohmanns's group. I have a wetsuit I purchased at the Swap meet (tried it on there), a leather hat, and a quick dry shirt I purchased from you. I have shirts to layer over the quick dry shirt and two windbreakers. I was planning on wearing sneakers with wool socks and gloves. Also I need to rent a kayak and PFD. Barb
I just added my name to the waitlist for the rolling instructions however it never asked me what date I wanted to attend. Have I misunderstood the instructions. I thought I could choose the date I wanted to attend but it never asked me. I won't be in town for the Dec. 7th but the Jan. 4 for Feb. date is good for me. Please let me know if I've misunderstood the instructions. Thanks,
Yesterday, Boris let me try one of his custom kayaks , and now it is difficult to go back to inflatable :)
So, I decided that for the upcoming trips I would rent a kayak from you, whenever there is availability
