A PFD (Personal Floatation Device) is required for all of our paddles. Do you have your own PFD or have acces to one?

I do have one.

Please tell us a little about your previous kayaking experience. It's okay if you don't have a lot of experience.

I have taken both the LL Bean and CKAPCO beginner's class. The LL Bean class is a steal at $20. The CKAPCO classes are nearly as cheap at $60 for 3 hours of instruction.

What kind or type of kayak(s) do you own? If you'll be renting or borrowing from a friend that's okay too. We also have rental kayaks for members to use.

Necky Manitou 14

Why do you kayak? Some people paddle to relax and get away from it all outdoors, others to stay fit. The real crazies paddle just for the joy and fun of it. What's your reason?

All of the above. I would like to visit historical sites via the water when I gain more experience.

What do you hope to get out of joining this group? Some people want to improve their paddling skills others just want to socialize with fellow paddlers. Is there anything special you're looking for?

It's always safer to go out on the water with others as opposed to going alone.

Introduction

I have had my Necky Manitou 14 for a year now so I guess that means that I am no longer a rookie but a veteran who has a lot to learn.
