A PFD (Personal Floatation Device) is required for all of our paddles. Do you have your own PFD or have acces to one?

Sure do

Please tell us a little about your previous kayaking experience. It's okay if you don't have a lot of experience.

I have been kayaking for about 10 years. As my skills have improved I've been able to do longer padddles under a variety of conditions. I've done some trips to Florida and BC, where I got to see manatees, Orcas and whales. Locally I've kayaked on rivers (e.g. the Patapsco), or open water such as Hammerman or Baltimore Harbor.

What kind or type of kayak(s) do you own? If you'll be renting or borrowing from a friend that's okay too. We also have rental kayaks for members to use.

Perception/Carolina 13.5 and P&H Capella 160.

Why do you kayak? Some people paddle to relax and get away from it all outdoors, others to stay fit. The real crazies paddle just for the joy and fun of it. What's your reason?

Exercise, to bond with the outdoors, and basically a lover of the water.

What do you hope to get out of joining this group? Some people want to improve their paddling skills others just want to socialize with fellow paddlers. Is there anything special you're looking for?

A chance to paddle in new places and share a love of the sport. Would consider travel to new areas and overnight excursions.

Introduction

A great lover of the outdoors, especially hiking and kayaking.
