Hi Agile Product Managers,

We are proud to announce that we are running the Chicago Lean Startup Challenge for a second year.  The Challenge is for any startup team that is serious about using the Lean Startup process to build a successful venture, and wants to compete for $25,000 in cash and exceptional prizes.  We are accepting applications with a rolling admissions process until June 17th.

Unlike most “startup competitions” we are completely focused on keeping you Lean.  This means instead of creating huge documents and proformas, you will follow the Lean Startup path to create tangible traction for your startup.  Over the course of 10 weeks you will be running experiments to validate your learning by interacting with your customers, and documenting your progress with very concise blog posts.  No extra work, just practicing the essential Lean Startup process.

If you are serious about creating a successful venture, and want to be recognized for what you do, not what you say, then the Chicago Lean Startup Challenge is for you.

To keep you on the right track we will set you up with the some of the best mentors in the Chicago startup community, teach relevant Lean Startup classes, provide great networking opportunities, and setup everyone with essential startup software tools like Lean Launch Lab, and KISSmetrics.

It starts with a one day intensive Lean Startup Bootcamp on June 30th, in which you’ll learn about business model generation, the build-measure-learn cycle, and the how and why of customer interviews (we will have an online video for those who cannot attend).  After that, you’ll get learning materials, checklists, and access to classes and mentors on a weekly basis.

After 10 weeks, our judges will select 4 finalists to receive extra mentoring, pitch coaching, design help and development support to accelerate their progress over a 4 week period.  Theses teams will even receive multiple sessions of one-on-one pitch coaching from Troy Henikoff, CEO of Excelerate Labs.  Each of the final 4 teams will have the opportunity to showcase what they learned from the Challenge in front of members of the Chicago startup community and compete for at $25,000 in cash along with exceptional prizes.

We are accepting teams using a rolling admissions process.  Don't wait! Apply now for your best chance of getting into the Challenge.
