The Chicago Drupal community has a long and proud history as one of the most active and vibrant in all of North America, maybe even the world. We're proud to be a part of this community as an advanced Drupal user group.
What "advanced" means is CADUG is a place we can get together and talk about solving problems developers face. We do not shy away from hard problems, providing an open forum to discuss and present on topics related to Drupal. CADUG is a sounding board for ideas, solutions and questions alike. There are no dumb questions and no problems too "simple" or too "advanced" - everyone is invited to participate!
We work to help ramp people up for contributing to Drupal in any way that we can. This involves hosting and participating in Drupal sprints as well as inviting members of all skill levels, not just the "advanced" to attend CADUG, ask questions and learn new things.
We believe attendees should have access to a broad range of Drupal related content and we encourage Drupal users of all walks of life to attend the CADUG meetups.
Our primary goals:
Support a growing and diverse Drupal community in Chicago
Provide mentorship to new Drupalists and interesting content for seasoned veterans
Focus on advanced presentations for Drupal architecture, development, and DevOps
Help developers extending Drupal into application and product building
Co-ordinate local sprints and hackathons for larger contributions
Support local groups for both Drupal and other open source communities
Although the CADUG is originally geared towards advanced Drupalists, we encourage those from all areas to attend and learn with us. Our mission is to create an open community among local professionals working with Drupal as their vocation.
In 2015, we'll usually be meeting on the second Tuesday of each month. We've planned our schedule for the entire year in advance, rotating to different venues around the city of Chicago and nearby suburbs.
