It will likely freeze overnight. Have a warm sleeping bag, a good sleeping pad, and rain gear. Sunset is before 5:30pm, a good headlamp is strongly recommended in the event we are hiking after dark.
It is deer hunting season (rifle), wear something blaze orange.
All participants are responsible for obtaining the essential equipment for the trip and having the knowledge to use the equipment (shelter, backpack, gear, etc). You should be able to carry 2-3 liters of water. Don't forget any medications, prescription eyewear, sunscreen, etc. Meals are not planned, bring your own food.
Backpacking can be a strenuous cardiovascular exercise. Participants should be in reasonably good health and physical fitness.
Organizers will do their best to ensure everyone has a safe and enjoyable time; however, you are ultimately responsible for your own comfort.
We practice Leave No Trace outdoor ethics (www.lnt.org) and expect the same from all participants.
Carpools will be arranged 1-3 days before the trip.
