This will be our regular monthly meeting, during which we will cover three general things: how the club handles backpacker education (i.e. beginner bootcamps), how we set up and manage non-beginner trips (i.e. everything else), and using the Meetup site to find and interact with other backpackers.We also often announce new trips at the meeting before posting them on the website.

If you can't make it to REI, or you're already familiar with how the club works, a more informal social gathering--time for for asking more backpacking questions and swapping backpacking stories--will occur after the meeting at Sully's House Tap Room (http://www.sullyshouse.com/) around the corner from REI.

I won't be able to attend as I noted. But I would like to know when there will be bootcamps and short hikes? Could you put those on your calandar on this meetup site so I can look ahead and plan? The only listing is the Isle Royal hike. I guess if you can't I'll find out at next months meetup. But it would be helpful to know ahead of time. It's a really useful tool.
