What we’re about
Do you find yourself looking for any excuse to bake? Us too! We are just two Chicago baking addicts that randomly found each other, and we figured there had to be more of us out there, hiding behind our muffin tins and baking pans. We decided there ought to be a support group where we can freely bake till our heart's content.
This group is designed for anyone with a love of baking, both men and women, from novice to expert and everything in between. Each month, we will host a themed event at someone's house - just bake something related to the theme and bring it to the event to share! Themes can be anything from "Dark Chocolate Lovers Unite" to "Spice It Up" to "You Put WHAT in There???" Ideas welcome, of course!
So if your love of baking needs an outlet, come join us, and bake on!
Please note: As much as we would love to have everyone come over and bake in our kitchens together, we do not have those dream kitchens yet (Chicago apartment living - what can you do?). So here's how the meetup works: Each month we will pose a new theme. Everyone who RSVPs will bake something at their home based on this theme and bring it with them to the meetup to share! (Think of it as a year-round cookie exchange, only with all sorts of desserty goodness!) We will exchange goodies, as well as recipes for anyone who is willing to share them, and make some new friends. Beginner bakers, fear not! Practice makes perfect, after all! Just do your best and we can all exchange tips, suggestions and anything else baking related or otherwise. : )
No Show Policy: <br> Due to the popularity of our events, we are implementing a new policy. We understand that sometimes things happen and you may not be able to make it to events that you have signed up for. In those cases, please be sure to change your RSVP to "no" so that people on the waiting list who want to go have the option. If you do not change your RSVP you will be considered a "no show." After 3 "no shows" we will have to remove you from the group. Thank you for your understanding.
