We had an excellent speaker lined up for an October 25 presentation on Design Patterns, but he has dropped out. It's probably too late to put together a high-quality presentation for that date, but we can still try to open our[masked] season November 22 . Our group has 200 members, most of whom live in the Chicago area and many of whom are well qualified to share their C++-related opinions and experiences at a meeting. Let's hear from some volunteers for November, and for early 2012. We're looking for well-prepared presentations on topics that will interest highly experienced programmers without being incomprehensible to those with only moderate experience. Those who have been featured speakers in the past year or two (myself included) should wait a while longer and give others a chance. Post a proposal on the meetup site or contact one of the organizers directly.
