Surprising session title:

Last summer I wrote
http://www.idinews.co...
that there's "no such thing as a "COBOL professional". It would be like a Chevrolet taxi driver.

But now the title of our group's next session is aimed at "C++ professionals"! Can I put that on my business cards? Can I get a degree in C++ programming?

I'm a professional programmer (if you prefer "software developer") who chooses to use C++ when appropriate.

No doubt the event title could have been better chosen,
but mainly for a reason entirely different from the one
you mention. "Career Opportunities" is not a good phrase
to use in e-mail, because it triggers spam detection rules
in mail filtering software. Most e-mail containing that
phrase is rubbish, and if your mail filtering software
discards any message containing that phrase, it will
not be wrong often. I suspect that there are lots of
CCUG members who never got the invitation. It's kind
of amusing actually, although it is more annoying than
amusing. I'm going to have to send a followup e-mail
asking our members to check out the event description,
just because there were probably many who never saw
the original invitation. Another inconvenience imposed
on us by the spammers.
